We are delighted your child will be joining our St Francis of Assisi Catholic Primary School family. On behalf of the children, staff and governors, we would like to welcome you and your family to St Francis of Assisi.

This is a very special milestone for you and your child, and we understand the importance of ensuring a happy and smooth transition into school life.

We want our children to feel as happy and secure as they can when starting school and arrange transition sessions to allow children to spend time in their new learning environment, with their new peers and teaching staff.

Before the start of the academic year, we invite all parents/carers to an induction meeting. This is an opportunity to meet our Reception Class team and visit our Reception Classroom. We also provide an information pack containing important information about our school and your child’s induction into school. We will discuss ways in which you can prepare your child for starting school, and be happy to answer any questions you may have.
