Easter time and new life
Looking around our beautiful school for signs of new life.
Deconstructed Role-Play
Last term we noticed that our role-play area just wasn't enough for our magical and fabulous imaginations. This term we have changed our structured role-play by...taking everything away!! I wonder what will happen when there is only crates, boxes, pegs, fabric and accessories. Let's see....
Happy New Year!
Welcome back to school after a wonderful Christmas break. A big thank you to the families who bought the staff lovely gifts and sent Christmas cards!
Spring term will bring lots of fun! Events coming up will include: World Book Day parade, a crafts and coffee morning, the arrival of 'Living Eggs' and an Easter bonnet parade. Watch out for lots more things happening as the term progresses.
Little Donkey!
We've had an extra-special Christmas treat in Little Doves... Look who came to visit us!
Welcome Little Baby
We are so proud of all of of EYFS children. They put on a show-stopping performance for friends and family and all oozed confidence. There wasn't a dry eye in the house as they closed the show with a very beautiful rendition of Away in a Manger. Well done everyone!
Phase 1 – Aspect 2: instrumental sounds
We’re turning into musical maestros! We have been working with and learning all about different instruments. Since starting this half term’s Letters and Sounds, we have learned the names of different instruments, explored the sounds they can make, sorted them into groups, talked about the different sounds they make and identified them solely by what we could hear. We loved it!
Remember Remember...
We have learned all about Guy Fawkes; he wasn't a good a man! To celebrate 5th November, we had our very own bonfire party. We made a 'bonfire' using twigs and creative resources, toasted some delicious marshmallows over the flame, and tucked into some yummy hot dogs. During our party we watched some fireworks on our interactive board; they were noisy and colourful. It was great!
Pumpkin party time at Little Doves
During the past few weeks, we have loved singing and dancing to lots of different songs. We love one song so much we just can't stop singing and dancing it all the time! It's called Dingle Dangle Scarecrow! As part of our creative play, we have made our own dingle dangle scarecrow using straw and other bits and bobs.
Our Little Doves are settling in a treat
and we couldn't be happier!
Take a sneaky pic at some of the fun we've been having.
They keep coming back every day for more!
Introducing Little Doves
Welcome back to our new school year at Little Doves.
I am Miss Berry and I am absolutely chuffed to be the new nursery teacher. I have many years of experience working with children aged 3-6 years and I am certain we are going to have lots of fun, so much so, Little doves won't even realise they're learning! This year we are lucky to be joined by the very experienced and talented Mrs Wilson as our teaching assistant and Miss Gillet and Mrs Young will be helping us too. We are always available to speak to you before and after school, so please, come and see us if you need any information. Anyway, less about us... Here's introducing our class of 2017, Little Doves!
