Money, money, money!

Money is a huge part of our every day lives. In Reception we learn about what money is.

This includes:

* what it looks like

* money can be coins, notes or a bank card

* the names of different coins and notes

* the different numbers found on coins

* the worth of different money

Children often believe that if they have lots of coins or notes, they have lots of money. This is why it is important to learn its worth and the value of what each piece represents. Allow your child to have a look at different coins and notes. Setting up a shop at home is a great way to learn and secure knowledge about money.
