Ways to find help in West Lancashire

The Easter holidays are now officially over, although, as you know, we’ve been continuing our childcare provision for children of keyworkers as usual during this time. Remember, you can access school work and homeschooling materials from your child’s teacher on the relevant class pages of the school website. We will resume setting new work now the ‘holidays’ are over. If you need us, we are at school so please do not hesitate to contact us. We will endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible if it’s the weekend or after 3.15pm - just leave a message. Thank you to those of you who have been in touch to share work or pictures. We’ve loved seeing them. To help with your online learning there are 2 very useful links below with some fantastic lessons covering a range of subjects, The Oak National Academy and BBC Bitesize Daily. We hope you enjoy these websites but remember to check out Teacher Pages too for further links and ideas to aid you in your home learning. Stay safe everyone, we are missing all of you.

A little video message from staff at school. We are missing you and hope to see you soon.

This is a great free book that explains all about Corona virus in a child friendly way, with great illustrations by the fantastic Axel Scheffler of Room on the broom and Gruffalo fame.

Chatterpack is a really useful website with lots of fun activities and some great virtual tours and live webcams. Click on the link below the screenshot.

Edenred Parents Q&A

Dear Parents/Guardians.

We hope you are keeping safe and well in these unprecedented times. Like most schools, we are continuing to provide childcare for children of key workers from 7:45 to 3:15.

Class teachers will continue to add website links and ideas to their class pages for you to carry out at home should you wish and if you have any queries or questions please do not hesitate to ring the school office on 01695 558560 or leave a message on our school facebook page.

Thank you for your continued help, support and understanding.

Free School Meal Vouchers for Eligible Families

For parents claiming Free School Meals for their children - from week commencing Monday 20th April the new Government led Voucher Scheme will be available.  Please email bursar@sfoa.lancs.sch.uk ASAP with your current live email address.  Thank you to those parents who have replied to the recent text messages and already submitted their details.  We are currently setting up the system and without this information vouchers cannot be sent.

Do...
1.Keep your kids at home as much as possible.
2.Teach them how to wash their hands properly.
3.Take them on walks and try to join in with online PE sessions to keep them healthy and active.
4.Educate them at home as much as you can but don’t force them into work, we are still at the very early stages of this pandemic and we don’t want children feeling pressured to work.
5. Check the school website and Facebook for regular updates.
6. FaceTime friends and family and try to keep yourself and your children positive.

Don’t...
1. Take your kids shopping with you if possible.
2. Visit elderly or vulnerable people.
3. Gather in public spaces such as parks in big numbers.
4. Have play dates and meet up with friends.

Most importantly, stay safe and please stick to government guidelines.

A possible daily timetable.
