A big welcome to 5L's class page from Mrs Lamph (teacher), Mrs Halliday (teaching assistant) and all of the children in 5L.

Timetable & Routines

Homework is set on a Friday and is given a 1 week deadline (Friday - Friday) , unless otherwise stated.

 

PE kits should be in school at all times. Children will be notified if any other clothing is needed, for example for outdoor sports in Winter, children may be asked to bring tracksuit/trainers.

 

Swimming for Y5 takes place on a Thursday afternoon during Spring Term (Jan - Easter)

 

Reading books and home-school records should be brought in daily. Children can change their reading books in Y5 daily, if they have read at home and place their book in the basket at the back of class.

 

Spellings will be given on a Thursday and form part of the weekly homework (using a dictionary/thesaurus to find unknown definitions of words and write a sentence containing the word.

 

Morning snack (toast) can be purchased daily (20p) or on a Monday for the week ahead

Library books are changed on a Friday

The Highwayman by Alfred Noyes

The children have enjoyed studying The Highwayman, a classic narrative poem by Alfred Noyes. They have rewritten the poem as a narrative story from one of the character's perspective. They enjoyed this animated video of the poem, so we thought we'd share it with you!
