Hello and welcome to 3/4 G's page on our fantastic new website. Over the coming weeks I'll be uploading newsletters, pictures and hopefully more videos like the one below to give you more of an insight into the wonderful things we carry out in class. I hope you enjoy viewing this section, if you have any comments, suggestions or ideas then please let me know. Thank you for your continued support.

Mr D. Gibson

For Africa Week we had fun learning about Mr Gibson's trip to Africa 6 years ago and we also enjoyed a visit from Ron and Sue who have built a school in Tanzania. We made African animal art and even tried some African animal poetry and African coordinates in maths.

Our amazing surprise visit from top BBC wildlife cameraman/presenter Gordon Buchanan.

Our hard work paid off when we received a surprise visit from BBC wildlife cameraman and presenter Gordon Buchanan. Gordon popped in to thank us for the letters we had sent regarding his programme 'Snow wolf family and me' that was screened over Christmas on the BBC. We never thought, when writing the letters two months ago, that Gordon would end up sitting in our classroom answering our questions and signing wolf pictures for us all to keep. It was a truly remarkable experience that we will all remember for the rest of our lives. Everyone agreed that this was such a lovely thing for Gordon to do, what an incredible guy he is.

Letters to a top wildlife film maker

As part of our Come and See topic about Journeys we watched Gordon Buchanan's journey to the Arctic to live with a pack of wild snow wolves. The documentary was on over Christmas on BBC 2 and called "Snow Wolf family and me.' We fell in love with it in class so wrote letters and drew pictures of Gordon and the wolves. After contacting his agent she gave us his email address so that we could scan and email them to him. Much to our surprise he emailed us back from his phone while he was secretly filming from a hide in India! He was having trouble viewing the letters etc so instead gave us his home address and asked us to send them on! Wow! Gordon is regarded as one of the world's top wildlife film makers and has worked for National Geographic and the BBC for over 20 years now. We felt honoured that he was emailing us back while on 'stake out' in India. We shall see if he sends us anything back after reading our letters. Fingers crossed!

"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas..." For one of our numeracy lessons this week we made Christmas decorations for the classroom. We were under strict orders to measure them to exactly 20cms.

This week we have been using glockenspiels, recorders and drums to accompany the Bob Marley classic - 'Three Little Birds'. What a great band we make.

We have started a new topic in Come and See (RE) about promises and belonging. Today Jake brought his martial arts outfits in to show us. It fitted in well with the topic as we discussed belonging to a club, and the rules you have to adhere to. Thanks Jake.

Well done Ava-Lilly for your fantastic gymnastic demonstrations today in PE. We were all really impressed.
