This term in Come & See, the children will be learning about 'Treasures'. What is a treasure to you?
HORRID HENRY
In English, the children have been learning about Horrid Henry and have been writing their own character descriptions. They have been looking at using expanded noun phrases and speech marks. Over the next week, the children will be editing their work.
A PREHISTORIC VISITOR!
On Monday all the children enjoyed an exciting visit from Rex, a six month old t-rex!
He bounded into the hall during our whole school collective worship, full of energy and excitement.
The children in Key Stage 1 were lucky enough to have some extra time with Rex, to support their learning about dinosaurs. The children listened very well to Rex's handler and asked some very good questions. They were also able to see some of Rex's tricks, such as '360' and how much of a talented footballer he is -for a dinosaur!

We have been learning about RULES and why we have them. The children have been learning about good and bad choices and what consequences are.

World Book Day
On Thursday we celebrated World Book Day. The children came in dressed up as their favourite characters and took part in the catwalk, in the hall, to showcase their efforts. It was a fun day that the children enjoyed.

The Beatle's Museum Trip
All of Key Stage 1 went to Liverpool to visit the Beatle's Museum. We all had an amazing and busy day!
We took part in different activities such as, drawing, dressing up and even playing the piano! After we had finished the activities we had our lunch. Then we went to the 4D cinema which was so funny!

As part of our topic, we are learning about our school, so we have been on a hunt around school to find lots of exciting facts. We had lots of fun!

We've had a busy and exciting week and have been working very hard!
In maths this week we have been exploring 2 digit numbers and their place value using base 10. to support our learning we have been using ipads and the interactive whiteboard.
For our English, we have been reading 'The Jolly Postman' and have had lots of fun using actions to tell the story. We have learnt about sequencing the story and have written a character description of the evil wolf!
Through our Come & See topic, 'Beginnings', we have been talking about how we feel when we start something new.
