Welcome back!
We have had a very busy and fun Spring term so far.
Please ensure that your child has their PE kit and that all items are clearly labelled.
The Key Stage 1 Christmas Party is on Wednesday and every child has been given a letter with the food item they need to bring in. Children can wear their party clothes too. If your child has any allergies, please let me know. Thank you!
Wonderful writers!
The children have enjoyed another exciting week! All the children performed well in the Key Stage 1 performance, 'Children of the World' and had a delicious Christmas dinner on Wednesday!
The children have produced some excellent independent writing this week, based around a naughty visitor to our class! The elf returned and POPPED the inflatables we'd used in our Christmas play. To warn the other children and to try and find him, we decided to make 'Wanted' posters using adjectives. We also wrote sorry letters to Mr Dave because the inflatables belonged to him and we didn't want him to think it was us.
Check out some of our writing!

I wonder what he did in our role play?
Welcome to 1T!
The children have made a fantastic start to Year 1 and have all settled in really well!
Our new topic this half term is Pirates and the children will be learning about the UK and the seas that surround us. In English we will be reading 'We're going on a bear hunt' as well as reading lots of books by the author, Julia Donaldson.
This term promises to be very exciting as the children will also be making lots of wonderful art & crafts in the build up to Christmas!
Please ensure the children have their P.E kits for Mondays and Wednesdays.
Thank you for your support.
Our visit to Santa'sGrotto
The children had a lovely trip to visit to see Santa in his grotto at Midstream Garden Centre. On arrival we were greeted by some of Santa's elves, singing some lovely Christmas carols before we had a look around the shop.
Then the children got to see Santa and tell him all about the presents they'd like for Christmas! Santa was very kind and gave all the boys and girls a special little present for being so good this year. Once we had all seen Santa, we went into the cafe to have a drink of juice and a tasty cake and to colour in some jolly Christmas pictures.
When it was time to leave, we said a big thank you to all the staff and waved goodbye to Santa too!

We're Going on a Bear Hunt!
The boys and girls have had a wonderful time reading this story and have completed some excellent work! We will be writing our own stories very soon so have created our own characters, using glitter, tissue paper, foil and coloured sand. To help bring them to life we have written or recorded our character descriptions using amazing adjectives!
Have a look at some of our characters!

AFRICA- Global week20/10/2014- 24/10/2014
We have had a fun and exciting week learning all about Kenya in Africa. We have learnt about Kenya because in English we have been reading Handa's Hen and we learnt that Handa lives in Kenya. Using a map of the world we have been able to find where Africa is and how far away it is from our country. To get to Kenya we would have to travel on a plane and it would take a very long time for us to arrive! We also looked at what schools can be like in Kenya and talked about the similarities and differences between our schools.
We had a great time flying to Kenya and came into school with our suitcases and changed into our holiday clothes. Then we had to make sure we had our passports and boarding passes as we headed to the departure gate! The air hostesses were very helpful and checked us in, but made sure to check our passports properly and stamp our boarding passes. When we were all in our seats we had to listen carefully to the flight attendants about safety on board the plane, before our pilot Nathan, could take off!
Check out our photos below!
Global Week
Autumn Term 1
The children have enjoyed a busy and fun week. To celebrate St Francis of Assisi Day and World Animal Day, the children were visited by Acorn Venture Farm. They enjoyed learning about the different animals, stroking them and feeding the sheep and goats. We also went to church on Friday to celebrate St Francis of Assisi Day and for our harvest celebration. The children listened and sang very well. Well done 1T!
To celebrate Roald Dahl Day, the children enjoyed reading 'The Enormous Crocodile' and had lots of fun making their own Roly Poly birds.
