Y6

Welcome to the Y6 class page where you will find details of upcoming events and see photographs of activities that children have been participating in.

This term (until Christmas), in Y6 ,children will swim on a Thursday afternoon. Please ensure your child has a full kit including cap.

PE is currently on a Thursday. Please ensure a kit is in school, consisting of shorts, T-shirts and pumps.

Homework is given on a Friday with a one week deadline. This will be English and/or Maths. In addition to this, daily reading is essential and the children will have ten spellings to learn each week. They must also write a sentence containing each word, so that they know what the word means and how to use it in context. This may mean they need to use a dictionary to find the meaning of the word, but please do not hand in a list of definitions.

In Year 6 we have been having fun writing and performing our own slam poetry verses based on the poem "What d'you wanna be?" by poet Wilf Mertens. Do you have a favourite from the two following videos?

Wednesday 4th October - Today we were given the honour of leading an assembly with a double celebration - Harvest Time and St Francis Of Asssisi feast day. We collected many items that will be handed over to the SVP society and delivered to those who need them the most in our community and parish.
